The practice started as Rañon, Villamar, and Associates in 1996 with an office at M.H. Del Pilar St., San Jose, Occ. Mindoro. Retired Judge Antonio Rañon and former public prosecutor Atty. Francis T. Villamar served as senior partners. Both had been public law practitioner. Upon the demise of Judge Rañon, Atty. Francis T. Villamar became a solo practitioner under the name F.T. Villamar Law Office.

In 2017, due to failing health of Atty. Francis T. Villamar, his nephew Atty. Lawrence P. Villamar joined his office as collaborating counsel. In 2018, Atty. Lawrence P. Villamar has assumed the practice, renaming the office as Villamar Law Office.

Experience:

Atty. Lawrence P. Villamar was admitted to the bar in June 20, 2016 after passing the 2015 bar exam. His first job as a lawyer is as corporate counsel to the Subic locator Broadband Broadcast Services Inc., a subsidiary of ABS which sells satellite capacity world-wide to telecommunication companies. He then worked as one of the corporate counsels in Puregold Price Club, Inc. In such capacity, he served as private prosecutor in criminal cases, namely, theft and qualified theft, for the retail corporation. He also facilitated the acquisition of lands for Puregold Price Club Inc group of companies. He also represented Puregold Price Club, Inc. in labor cases filed against in by its employees.

In 2017, he joined the congressional staff of HON. FELICIANO “SONNY” BELMONTE, JR. representing the former Speaker of the House in meetings for his district affairs and serving as aide in his formal communications, speeches, and messages. Atty. Villamar is not unfamiliar with legislative work having worked as a legislative staff of HON. FRANCIS “CHIZ” ESCUDERO at the Senate of the Philippines in 2008 up to 2009. He joined his late uncle’s law practice as collaborating counsel in 2017 and eventually took over, renaming the law office as VILLAMAR LAW OFFICE.

Atty. Lawrence P. Villamar graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) with a degree in Bachelor in Public Administration and Governance. He also studied in its College of Law for four (4) years and eventually obtained his degree in law from the Manila Law College (MLC) in 2015. He passed the bar exam immediately thereafter.

Atty. Lawrence is a commissioned Notary Public for Magsaysay, San Jose, Rizal, Calintaan and Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro.
