Client Alert - 20 April 2020

Dear valued client,

Due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine ("ECQ") to 30 April 2020, the Bureau of Internal Revenue ("BIR") issued Revenue Regulation No. 10- 2020 ("RR-10-2020") further extending the deadline to file your Annual Income Tax Return ("ITR") for CY ending 31 December 2019 to 30 May 2020. The attachments required to be submitted for the ITR are due later on 15 June 2020.

The BIR also extended the deadlines to file other tax documents and pay taxes originally indicated in BIR Revenue Regulation No 7-2020. For a complete list of extended deadlines you can refer to RR 10-2020 here.

If the ECQ is further extended, the filing of returns, payment of taxes and submission of reports and attachments falling within the extended ECQ period will be extended for 30 calendar days from the lifting of the ECQ.

How this affects you

Be sure to check if your business is required to file any tax return and/or document which has been affected by the above-mentioned extension of deadlines.

If yes, your business can take advantage of the additional time to prepare the requirements and not unnecessarily pressure yourself and your business during these challenging times.
